This is the lead single from Giulia's album Raze Me To the Ground. Having heard the album (it's also in my review pile) I have to say it's one of the weakest things on it in my opinion. But at the same time it is the most auto-tuned and commercial thing as it is pure current slick Italo-disco with a little bit of brooding edge.
Ti give you an idea of how commercial it is, this is the song co-written by Don Mescal who isn't a brand of cheap brandy but is known for his production work with The Backstreet Boys and Boyzone et al. And the other production credit goes to Tom Nichols who the press release boasts has worked with Celine Dion and All Saints and Kylie Minogue!!
For me, the instrumental B-side is better as it just sounds like a cool dance tune I might hear while out clubbing and it doesn't have the super slick vocals on it.

Apparently, Giulia has her own fashion line to go with the single and album! I wish I knew if she can really sing or not as the vocals are so treated it's hard to tell. As for the fact that they think this is country music, I have to say the single has no country in it whatsoever. But it's OK if you like really commercial pop music and it's acceptable lyrically if a little bit on the self-help, make the best of yourself, be who you wanna be type stuff.
Not for me at all but the album has some much better stuff on it. Look forward to that review soon. Until then, find out more about Giulia at Giulia online
