The press release describes Newcastle’s Digits as ‘Northern riff tyrants’. and ‘riff slingers’. While they’ve clearly no aversion to riffage on the strength of this offering, they’re better than all that corn.
This EP hits with a grungey rage that speaks more of the early to mid 90s than the continuum of alternative rock from that’s extended from the late 90s to the present, and is all the stronger for it, in that it doesn’t sound like so much of everything else that’s kicking around at the moment.
