Review: 'ALFAHANNE'
'Blod Ed Alfa'

-  Label: 'Dark Essence Records'
-  Genre: 'Heavy Metal' -  Release Date: '11th September 2015'

Our Rating:
Black metal can have a cartoonish quality that it hard to take seriously but this Swedish band sound like they are going for the jugular rather than playing it safe.

Fierce guttural vocals combine with wall of metal riffs to produce a real bad ass record which, like all the best Rock'n'Roll, is specifically designed to annoy the neighbours.

This is their second full-length album and despite the rawness of the content the production values are surprisingly tight. As a result they capture a spontaneous live in the studio quality.

The band have proudly declared that they play negative, 'Alfapocalyptic' rock music and using their own language actually adds to the menacing character of their sound.

Although all lyrics and titles are in Swedish, I don't think you need Google Translate to gauge that they are singing about sex, blood and death rather than blue skies or shiny happy people.

In terms of attitude, I'd say the sound was more like Punk Rock than Heavy Metal and I'd urge fans of both genres to step outside the comfort zone and check out this excellent album.
