Review: 'INANIEL SWIMS & SORRY SORRY SWIMS'
'Waiting For G (12" vinyl)'

-  Label: 'We Want 2 Wecord'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '9th February 2016'-  Catalogue No: 'WW018W'

Our Rating:
In September 2015, Inaniel Swims & Sorry Sorry Swims flew to California, did a ten date tour and recorded five songs in Oakland in Greg Ashley's (The Gris Gris) studio, analogue natch.

WW2W couldn't resist sticking 300 copies out on vinyl (sold out but available digitally via Bandcamp) and it's not hard to see why. This is great pop music. 'Hot Tea To Tepid Tea' has lots of life in it and some brilliantly observant and quirky lyrics despite being musically quite hushed. Vocals are up front and this makes it. 'Ghost' follows a similar template and then counts ghosts all the way up to twenty until the protagonist is surrounded by them.

The music meanwhile goes bordello crazy. It is a joyful thing I have to say. 'Rastaniel' is cod reggae in a magical way and once again lyrically deft. 'Blue Life A Life In Blue' starts out very sedately and then gets its groove on. It is a bit 'Lynchian' if you know what I mean and then it fuzzes out. Top top track. 'Do You Really Need Me?' is a short aloha strum. This is a very collectable and nice sounding record.
