Review: 'Bad Flowers, The'
'The Bad Flowers (EP)'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '4th November 2016'

Our Rating:
How many bands over the last 30 years have cited Led Zeppelin and The Who as influences while churning out well-intentioned but ultimately standard rock? The latest to join the ranks are The Bad Flowers, sporting beards and leather jackets and looking mean.

‘Can You Feel It?’ packs enough grit and punch to be convincing, boasting an extended guitar solo around a refrain of ‘can you feel my pain?’. It sounds more like Rival Sons covering The Cult than either of the mighty forebears of choice, but that’s progress and dilution for you. ‘City Lights’ gets a bit hair rock, and as a whole, the songs are fairly generic in their construction and styling. In fairness, though, the four tracks here aren’t short on meat and lay down some sturdy grooves that are hard to argue with.
