Review: 'ESKIES, THE'
'After The Sherry Went Round'

-  Label: 'Self Released'
-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: '26th August 2016'

Our Rating:
These four Dubliners run through thirteen rip-roaring party tunes for cowboys, sailors, chain gangers and rag timers. Anyone, that is, who is looking to escape the misery of sobriety and sensible living.

With tongues firmly in cheeks, they call their music 'Sea Soaked Gypsy Folk' and this album is probably best enjoyed after more than just a tipple of sherry.

Their stage show is apparently an all screaming, all sweating, swaggering spectacle and I don't doubt it after listening to a debut album that barely pauses for breath.

"It's a pretty good time to not know what the hell is going on" runs the chorus to Chin Up Jack and this sounds like good advice to listeners.
