Review: 'TUTTLE, DOUG'
'Peace Potato'

-  Label: 'Trouble In Mind Records'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '5th May 2017'

Our Rating:
Peace Potato features 15 songs, mostly two or three minutes long with a total playing time of just 33 minutes beginning with Bait The Sun and ending with You Have Begun.

Brevity was the norm with LPs during the 1960s - on The Beatles' Help!, for example, only Ticket To Ride (3:10) lasts more than three minutes. This comparison is not a casual one since Tuttle takes many of his moves from the Moptops and my guess is that George is his favourite Beatle.

The Massachusetts songwriter played every instrument and recorded the entirety of 'Peace Potato' in his Somerville bedroom studio. It is his third solo album. Previously he fronted a psychedelic band called MMOSS.

Uncomplicated, tuneful, wistful and short, it establishes a nice, dreamy mood to make it an ideal soundtrack for an afternoon nap.
