This brief but intense five track EP contains fifteen minutes of introspective reflections written during the early days of the pandemic lockdown. They tell of the fears of a man forced to confront himself and not always sure he likes what he sees.
I’m sure there will be many listeners who will relate to the line in The Ghost of Mistakes : “Stuck in here with me all the time is enough to drive anyone out of their mind”
Bowman_Clarke wants no less than to uncover the meaning of life. In the opening track, Deleted Scenes, he sings “I want to see under the skin, between the lines of the state that we’re in.”
Getting fears out in the open is at the heart of Speaking Of Guns and being thankful for small mercies is the broad thrust of the title tune.

The EP was recorded in no frills fashion over three days in the studio of Lukas Drinkwater in Stroud. As well as providing the recording space, Drinkwater also plays guitar, bass, drums and keys on the record.
The tracks were produced by partner Josienne Clarke who also contributes backing vocals and saxophone, most evidently with a brief solo in A Red Light In A Darkroom.
These songs from a room are raw and real in which the bleakness is tempered by an underlying hope in new beginnings and happy endings.
