Review: 'CONWAY, FRANCIE'
'Another Night In Amsterdam'

-  Label: 'Self Released'
-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: '13th January 2023'

Our Rating:
This Irish singer/songwriter has been active for the best part of forty years and seems stuck in a time warp.

The album’s bland white man’s soul features glossy pop arrangements, girly choruses and some tacky sax interludes which establish a very 1980s mood.

The songs are largely those of a lonely guy wandering around a city looking to get laid. On the title track his dubious chat up line is “I’ll show you loving as it used to be.”

The album includes remixes of three tracks recorded in Montreux, Switzerland by the late David Richards who produced David Bowie and Queen. The extended mix of Don’t Mess With My Heart regurgitates the groove from Let’s Dance but pales in comparison.
