Review: 'Gewalt'
'Trans/ Monika In Scherben'

-  Label: 'Clouds Hill Records'
-  Genre: 'Industrial' -  Release Date: '12.1.24.'-  Catalogue No: 'CH390'

Our Rating:
This is the latest single by Gewalt and was composed for the film …Der Soldat Monika that's directed by Paul Poet, the film is the true story of Monique Dumont who was an Austrian soldier who single handedly campaigned to be allowed to life as a trans identifying being and Military lawyer. This is Gewalt's eleventh single and is last=o the first release from the bands second album Doppledenk. Gwealt are DMI, Helen Henfling, Jasmine Rilke and Patrick Wagner, the single was produced by Jari Antti.

The A-side Trans has doomy synths with post punk guitars raging away against a club dancefloor beat, as Patrick's vocals celebrating and exploring his Trans nature, as it breaks down becoming more tender, slowly building back up as Patrick intones Ich Bin Trans ever more urgently.

The B-side Monika In Scherben slows things down, as she leads a more glitchy unsafe existence. Dark dancehall ambience with explosive guitars, as we hope it ends well for Monika In Scherben, as the music marches towards the darkness all will be revealed of her fate if you watch Der Soldat Monika.
