Vlimmer are back with the band's latest single Mauerkipp, as Alexander Donats most productive band continue to put out high quality darkwave singles and ep's.
Mauerkipp has vocals that seem slightly slower than the drums or central synth riff that infests the song with a dark edge, distressing noises come more to the fore in the second movement of the song, as the third movement shifts things again with a closer claustrophobic edge that eventually sounds like the messy denouement of a horror film.
California is a German Language cover of Phantom Planets hit California that adds layers of synths and clattering drum machines over gauzy emphatic vocals, while still sounding every bit as catchy as the original.
