Review: 'Scorpio Leisure'
'Apology'

-  Label: 'Last Night From Glasgow'
-  Genre: 'Industrial' -  Release Date: '22.3.24.'

Our Rating:
Apology is the lead single from Scorpio Leisure's self-titled debut album that's due out at the end of may, only the title track will appear on the album. Scorpio Leisure are based in Edinburgh and feature ex members of Fire Engines, Win and Brian Jonestown massacre among others. They are Hettie Noir, Ricky Maymi, Coco Whitson, Russell Burn and Mungo Carswell.

The ep opens with Apology a slow goth synth pop song with rich vocals from Hettie Noir, who seems to be waiting an eternity for the Apology she believes she is entitled to, as the guitars become more distended, will you give in and say sorry to her.

Feeling Sleazy is for a woman on a days long bender, who is dressed like a street walking cheetah, storming across this dark vista, getting up to all sorts of bad things, while being enthralled to the night and all of its alluring desires.

Candy Floss And Gin your regular Edinburgh diet, is about a woman who reeks of both, while being the sort of hot mess that would turn heads anywhere she stumbles, while the backing sounds like a re-worked Inca Babies song.

The ep closes with Calm Down that is indeed calming goth pop, while not being screamed at someone in the middle of a drug induced freak out, the slinky guitar figure its built around allows for all sorts of dark delights to help bring you back down to earth.
