Our Rating:
Oh God, headache time. DROWNING POOL are the latest bunch of facial-haired, woolly-hatted Yank chancers peddling blood 'n' splattergore metal and worrying the smaller arena circuit Stateside.

Actually, it depresses your reviewer greatly that "Bodies" parent album "Sinners" has reached platinum status in only 11 weeks in the US (with plenty of assistance from MTV2 and the WWF), as this Dallas-based quartet kick up the most predictable, pre-pubescent rawk mulch imaginable.

If I was being charitable, I suppose you can't really fault DROWNING POOL'S musical drilling. "Bodies" is guy-rope tight and when the vocalist isn't attempting to ape something out of LOVECRAFT'S Cthulhu mythos, he can manage a reasonable Eddie Vedder at a push. But that's only if I'm being charitable, so keep those knives sharpened.

For the initiated, the EP also features an Ozzfest live versh of "Bodies" (oh joy!), the promo video and a Total Rock session version of "Sermon" that only makes you realise how wise they were to stick with "Bodies" as the main track here.

Still, at least they didn't do a MEGADETH and try to cover THE SEX PISTOLS, as I'd originally feared on clocking the title. For that alone we should be truly thankful.
