Every Beautiful Night is the latest Ep by Manchester's Rosellas who have been threatening to break through for a while now, the band are Drew Selby, Euan Mail, Ollie Appleby and Mark Zanker.
The Ep opens with Surrounded By Light a glacial fully enveloping shoegaze anthem, making clear that you should be Surrounded By Light that glows around your aura, while you leave the next morning, passions spent, fluids intermingled they are enraptured by you, the fusillade of guitars, exploding with energy, injected by your very presence in their lives.
Happy Again is exactly the service they want to provide you with, putting that smile back on your face, they are here to help you through your troubles, making you smile again, something the world needs a lot more of right now. Perfect to get a good crowd swaying along with them and urging you all to be Happy Again.
Get Over Yourself feels like a perfect message for our self-obsessed times, I'm sure we all have friends and more well known people, that this message to Get Over yourself can be aimed at, so listen to others more, work to make everyone's life better, not just your own, guitars go full on, racked with pain of dealing with narcissists too often.
Eyes Of The World crashes out the speakers like you've just found a tik tok of something you got up to at the weekend, that should have remained secret, but is now public, oh the shame, but they are working on your state of mind, this is hopeful, an upbeat indie re-working of a downbeat Radiohead classic, into something far brighter, the guitar blossom like a supernova.
The album closes with (I'm In Love With A) Songbird a plaintive expression of love for that Songbird, that's always calling his name in the middle of the night, unclear if she reciprocates all the feelings he's expressing, but hopefully the Doves of love will be kind to them.
