Review: 'CAPTAIN WILBERFORCE'
'Another World. Another Life. Another Time'

-  Label: 'Self Released'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '2Oth February 2026'

Our Rating:
This Leeds-based band don’t aspire to break new ground. Sonically they are immersed in the sixties and to quote a line from the opening track (Holding On) seem content to be ”always different but always the same.

This album pretty much follows on from where their 2020 release - 'When the Dust Just Won't Settle' – left off so you’ll find eleven more songs about heartbreak and loss set to catchy pop rhythms. If it ain’t broke, why fix it?

There are occasional nods to the modern world. For instance, Four Words and the Enter Key is a tune about the challenges faced by AI. However, their strength lies in sticking to hummable melodies, warm harmonies and a welcome sense of optimism.
