Review: 'SUBWAYS, THE'
'OH YEAH'

-  Label: 'INFECTIOUS'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '14th March 2005'

Our Rating:
The Subways, bless em. Fresh faced and brimming with youthful energy, they’re young, good looking and will be probably the troublesome 20 summats on a Levi’s add in the near future.

The single ‘Oh yeah’ pretty much encapsulates everything in its simplicity: A driving drum beat, a simple riff, a bit of boy/girl call and respond vocals and one of those perfectly infectious chorus’. It also clocks in at just under 3 mins and cleverly doesn’t outstay its welcome.

B-side ‘Take me Away’ carries a nonchalant coolness with it’s stop start rhythm and Billy Lunn’s lazy vocals as the boy girl dynamic is forsaken and we’re privy to a little bit of a solo. Much like the 22-20’s it’s decidedly rootsy and won't challenge any creative boundaries, but for pure energy and enthusiasm ‘Oh yeah’ will at the very least have you nodding in appreciation, or if you’re so inclined pouting like Jagger and stomping around like a twat.
