'WELCOME TO LIFE'

-  Album: 'WELCOME TO LIFE'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: 'May 2005'

Our Rating:
Now see, if you're going to spend five years of your life and a lot of your hard earned cash making and producing your own music, you need to know your market. Take a glance through the various sections of this site and you'll see a common love for the music of bands such as the Wedding Present, Smog, the Go Betweens, Teenage Fanclub - great songs delivered in a no-nonsense kind of fashion - these things really inspire us.

So my advice is, if you're going to churn out bulk standard "modern" rock that you wouldn't feel out of place performing to your parents in the local church, this isn't really the place to send it. I've tried, but I can't find anything about this record that sits even vaguely in my musical universe. The songs are pretty standard MOR fare, the vocals have a hint of the operatic, the arrangements are competent, the playing is competent, the production is square.. Damned by faint praise? - you betcha!
