Review: 'I AM KLOOT'
'I BELIEVE'

-  Label: 'ECHO (www.iamkloot.com)'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '13th June 2005'-  Catalogue No: 'RADCD 171'

Our Rating:
Arguably every bit as lovely as previous single "Over My Shoulder", "I Believe" is the second mini-classic to be severed from I AM KLOOT'S "Gods & Monsters": an album chock full of the little buggers as it is.

As jaunty, melancholic, ragged and lyrical as ever, "I Believe" is yet another reminder of this Mancunian trio's inherent genius and with Johnny Bramwell leafing off with the great line "I believe in the 'Allelujah chorus of the shopping mall", it's another effectively prosaic grub around in the corners of the human psyche that leaves most current writers for dead.

Not that Johnny himself believe it for a second, as he goes on to admit, a little sheepishly: "I never thought I'd string along, I never thought we'd last this long". Well, you have old chum, and you'll continue to go from strength to strength while you can casually knock out bittersweet little gems of this calibre on a regular basis.
