One of the more inspired pairings in recent years finds two great, self-styled new labels from both sides of the Pennines joining forces for this ripsnortin' 7" single.
Actually, scratch that, for these two tracks are seething, melody-scouring anthems for the intelligence-seeking disaffected everywhere and both hit home with the force of a tank running backwards over your cranium.
"You Do, You Die" is a jerkier,more frazzled version of THE SCARAMANGA SIX'S vision than past efforts, with deranged nods to both Cardiacs and later Beefheart, but the frenetic, fatalistic message is tough to ignore.
Meanwhile, "Wrong" is your reviewer's first hearty swig from LES FLAMES' poison chalice and it tastes coruscatingly good. The new Valentine Records signings rock with a lusty abandon and a healthy disregard for commercial restraints that allows them to thoroughly revel in a chorus of "You're fucking WRONG!!!"
