Review: 'WHISKYCATS'
'AMSTERDAM'

-  Label: 'MEDICAL'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: 'October 2005'

Our Rating:
WHISKYCATS are a foursome who deliver sexy, jazzy funky tunes with a twist. The Manchester based band have already built up a cult following in their home town, and with good reason too. 'Amsterdam' is a slow, many layered tune complete with syncopated drumming, muted trumpets, a twanging bass line
and some soulful singing from lead vocalist Matthew Whitaker.

B sides, 'Locked Out Lover' and 'Sentiment' are slightly more up tempo tunes, with a Latino twist, which can't help but get your whole body shaking in time to the music. The bands music oozes with sex, passion, and the feeling of late nights in a foreign country, drinking coffee with a beautiful girl in a small café. Some absolutely beautiful tunes which have worn away the repeat button on my CD player.
