Our Rating:
RSL welcome all things Brazilian with open arms. Good thing too really as this band deliver some of the best bum wriggling tunes heard in a long time!

Their debut album, 'Every Preston Guild' is a mix of fast paced,
instrumentals, which have gained them acclaim by the likes of master DJs Gilles Peterson and Mr Scruff: slow, laid back songs with deep, throaty singing on- by a mystery woman with a voice like honey, and a mix of stuff in between.

Tunes such as 'Every Preston Guild (Pt.1)' and 'Wesley Guild' combine bongos with off beat syncopated drum beats, keyboards sound (similar to the music played in a lift), lively gospel-esq singing and wobbly bits to form up-beat tracks bursting with life and the spirit of South America.

My only complaint would be that some of the tracks take a while to get going, with some overly long, minimalist introductions consisting simply of two notes and rushing waves- as in 'Plunge Interlude' or 'The Mast (Love Will be Strong)' but that's being pernickety, as once the introductions are over, the songs are defiantly worth the wait!

In short, 'Every Preston Guild' has something for everyone, and boy oh boy does it sound good!
