Steve Conway's "It's About Time" (http://www.steveconwaymusic.com) can be compared to a car you once owned, probably your first and most beloved to you. You don't know if it's your imagination playing tricks on you, but no other automobile after it seems to run as well, has that spark when you cruise it through town.
There's a reason why people, even critics, still use the cliched line, "They just don't make them like that anymore." That would be true if Conway hadn't done it, recorded an album that is very much a masterpiece, a country-rock treasure chest that can be held in the same high standards as the legends it was probably influenced by.
What we have here is the Best Album of the Year. Somebody please hand over the trophy to Conway now. From beginning to end, these songs convey true-blue emotions from the heart as Conway narrates his tales with a kind father's heart and a bluesman's soul. The upbeat "Wondering Heart" is vintage Nashville, years before the country capital sold out to Madison Avenue. As catchy and friendly as it is, that's merely the intro, a gate which opens to further greatness.

Let's be blunt here: "Right Before My Eyes" and "I'll Never Love Like That Again" are KO punches in the gut. These hopelessly romantic songs will have you shedding real tears. The dreamy, lovingly crafted "I'll Never Love Like That Again" is a poignant stunner. Conway's voice flows like wine; it is rich and bittersweet to the taste.
Backed by an all-star line-up of veterans, Conway is never overshadowed. His vocal work is brimming with self-confidence and authentic feeling. The CD is a joy to listen to and marvel at.
