Review: 'LEON VEST'
'SO BLUE'

-  Label: 'DTI RECORDS'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: 'November 2005'-  Catalogue No: 'CDB1033340012'

Our Rating:
Californian-based LEON VEST claim inspiration from lounge music, blues and contemporary 60s soul, genres which have slowly but gracefully died out.

And there's a reason why. Slow, boring, dull and trite are just some of the words that spring to mind when listening to 'So Blue' the debut album from Leon Vest. The lyrics mirror the kind written by a self absorbed teenager- with pithy insights into life and love, and are sung by a woman (Sandy Leon) who unfortunately has the most nasal, whining voice heard in a long time.

This, combined with a backing tune which is the same for each of the eight songs on the album, and twinkly bits, akin to cheesy 80s feel good films is enough to have you wishing that the band had never been formed. Absolute and utter rubbish.
