ELSIE LAW - The Rap Starlet. Nice name- it hints of a vulnerability hidden under layers of attitude and toughness. Don't mess with this one; she's from Brooklyn, NY so she'll pop a cap in yo ass.or something.
'Fly Or Die' speaks of a troubled upbringing and a fierce ambition to get to the top. Like most rap albums then, expect this one feels more genuine and heartfelt, with the lyrics backed by popular, catchy beats that scream of attitude.
Opening tracks, adrenaline fuelled 'Those Little Piggies' and 'Mother's Day' is everything you wish for and more, catchy, funky and clever , but unfortunately the album loses attitude and pace towards the end, getting a little dull and repetitive. Still, it may only be hip hop, but I like it.
