Review: 'Natalise'
'I Came To Play'

-  Album: 'I Came To Play' -  Label: 'Stars823 Records'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '2005'

Our Rating:
This is one of the best albums I have. Natalise is a very positive role model for women and some of her lyrics talk about how guys in the music business try to treat women ("It's My" and "Get Me Off"). She is also one of few Asian singers in the U.S. who is very popular. The slow songs are very melodic and heartfelt and she plays piano on some of them ("How Far" "I'm Ready" "Something Special"). She also wrote all the songs on the album. Her lyrics are very very good and intelligent, but she went to Stanford so this is no suprise for her to sound intelligent. There are song interludes on the album that let us peer into what it is like to be a woman in the music business with men not taking you seriously and trying to take advantage of you. The best songs on the album are "Get Me Off" and "Enough" but really all of the songs are very good. The fast songs are club type songs that you can dance to and turn up really loud. The slow songs are all very emotional and sound very sincere. The songwriting and recording quality are excellent as is her voice. Overall I highly recommend this album to anyone who is tired of listening to the same stuff out there and wants to hear something refreshing and new from a very good singer.
