Review: 'SEARSON, JAKE'
'TRUTH & LIES'

-  Label: 'TIDELINES'
-  Genre: 'Heavy Metal' -  Release Date: 'February 2006'

Our Rating:
‘Truth And Lies’ the album, is better than its' trailer single of the same name. Way better. Opening track ‘Breaking The Mould’ is ace, a fast paced track full of Iron Maiden-esque screaming guitar solos, driving drums, and three-part harmonies that would put most punk pop bands to shame.

It’s a cracking song and helps to set the tone of the rest of the album perfectly. ‘Truth And Lies’ is ideal mix of banging punk songs, with twanging bass lines and ridiculously simple lyrics and heavy metal ROCK songs which would get any self respecting goth off their arse and playing air guitar along to the tracks.

The album is only slightly let down by its self-titled song, and ‘When Butterflies Collide’ a title which I still maintain has one of the most awful names heard in a long time. Once these two tracks have been skipped over though, the remaining songs on ‘Truth And Lies’ help prove that that Searson is not some one trick Goth wonder.
