Review: 'REBUS'
'THE RED (EP)'

-  Label: 'HEATHEN MUSIC'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: 'April 2006'

Our Rating:
REBUS have the customary muso fanfare; Lamacq. Check. John Kennedy. Check. Credit in Bloc Party album sleeve. Nice.

These boys are the latest recruits to the indie disco. The electronic stomp of ‘Sorry’ gleans the flickering guitar sound Battle are making their own whilst the itchy shuffle and disco vocals of don’t ‘Panic’ and the bark of ‘Eyes’ make for a surprisingly varied listen.

’Promises’ suffers from some lousy off key vocals sounding off like a slow motion Jimmy Eat World but there are definitely worse ways to spend 15 minutes of your day. Reading the Daily Mail for example.
