This is an absolutely marvellous mellow, alt folk album from Vetiver, a band formed by Andy Cabic, one of the members of the band which toured with Devendra Banhart, as well as having supported 60s folk artist Vashti Bunyan earlier this year.
With gentle crooning from Cabic, backed at times by simple acoustic guitars and soaring violins and at others, harsh electronic sounds, wind chimes and driving drum beats this is an album with a fragile yet warm, and beautifully layered sound which you can’t help but fall in love with. With guest appearances from Devendra Banhart , Joanna Newsom and Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval this is a real gem of a record!
