Their latest release, 'Bright Idea' has all the right components. You cannot fail to recognise the angsty vocals and strong guitar line as anything other than rock music.
With the catchy hookline, and subtle acoustic undercurrent, it will be well received by the band's fans, and also by many other reviewers. The fact that I found it a little bit too pedestrian for my liking is confusing, as this has all the ingredients of a classic.
It all gels too well together, I suppose, which is a silly thing to dislike, unless you feel the music effortlessly wash over you and out of sight, forgotten as soon as it is heard. Despite the pure rock noise there is an emptiness about it that leaves you cold.
