Review: 'KID CASANOVA'
'HEART ATTACKS & SUBWAY MAPS (album sampler)'

-  Label: 'SOMETHING IN CONSTRUCTION'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: 'July 2006'

Our Rating:
This is boisterous, hearty guitar led pop. Pure & simple. The 4 songs on display in this album sampler are quite catchy & for the most part well constructed if a little predictable.

First track “the kids in this town” isn’t the best track on the e.p. with an annoying & pointless music-lesson #1 key change towards the end, & the vocals do little to improve it, with no balls on display, and unintentionally off key bits. On second track “Hey Johnny” however things improve all round, with a perfectly respectable vocal performance & much more interesting music.

The record continues getting better as it goes on, with a much wilder, loose feel, but there’s nothing to make the jaw drop. This is pretty decent indie-pop, with a little bit of a snarl. I would have liked to hear the whole album to be able to make a full judgement, but on the strength of this promo, it’s alright, but not much more.
