'GET LOST: MIXED BY DAMIAN LAZARUS & MATTHEW STYLES'

-  Label: 'CROSSTOWN REBELS'
-  Genre: 'Dance' -  Release Date: '2006'

Our Rating:
This is a 2 disc set mixed by Damian Lazarus & Matthew Styles. The first disc sticks to the more progressive house styles, with a fine selection of 15 tracks from producers such as Butane, Styro, Rob Mello, Monolake, Add Noise & The Knife. The whole disc is an excellent mix & doesn’t get boring or formulaic as the genre is be prone to be at times.

Second disc takes us into breakier territory, with a small portion of electro-hop courtesy of Anaerobic Robots & a few vaguely grimy elements too. Although this isn’t as coherent a mix as disc 1, the top tracklisting makes up for it & guarantees a selection of aural gems from John Tejada, Position Normal, Fourtet (Battles remix) Si Begg, Moonstarr, Hannas Barber, Duoteque & Bergheim among others rinsin’out the beats & bass.

All in all, a worthwhile purchase with disk 1 ideal for getting the party started & disk 2 perfect for the stamina driven early headstrong session.
