Review: 'BASEMENT JAXX'
'HUSH BOY'

-  Label: 'XL RECORDINGS (www.xlrecordings.com)'
-  Genre: 'Dance' -  Release Date: '28th August 2006'

Our Rating:
Basement Jaxx are back with a vengeance and they want you to know about it. Big, bold and brassy, ‘Hush Boy’ is a Latin fuelled carnival extravaganza of a song that features a fully loaded trumpet section and guest vocals from Vula (last heard on the huge ‘Oh My Gosh’).

Collaborators Simon Radcliffe and Felix Buxton have managed to create a huge pop smash sound that will blow anything that comes near it clean off of the dancefloor, any sharper and you’d cut yourself listening. If ‘Hush Boy’ doesn’t make you want to get up, party hard and dance til dawn, then nothing will.

I heard the album 'Atlantic Jazz Vol. 2'. It opened like a Brazil Street carnival, but ultimately I did not like it. Or it did not move me. Except for one track 'We R Computa' which was mashy electro and dead bouncy. They remixed a Sharlene Hector tune as well, and that was nice.

They ain't the real deal though
