Review: 'KING CREOSOTE'
'YOU ARE COULD I'

-  Label: '679 RECORDINGS'
-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: '18th September 2006'

Our Rating:
King Creosote is back with the 'You Are Could I' e.p. which perfectly showcases his delectable voice and deep, pleasurable musings. The title track, complete with distinctive Scottish accent pushed to the fore, is lyrically made up by persistent, simple yet extensive and searching questions. Propelled by a marching piano, virtuoso violin and constant organ box.

It's immediately likeable and will have you singing along with the best of them after the first play. 'You Are Could I' is complimented by the privately emotional and considered demo 'That Waltzer' and 'The Vice Like Jist Of It', which is taken from the 'KC Rules OK' album. All in all a great e.p. and a fantastic way to get a taster of this man's enviable talent.
