Review: 'BRAM, MARK/ RUBY TOPAZ'
'Topaz Rarities'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '2006'

Our Rating:
Is the world hungry for a Glam Rock Revolution?

It just might be if it knew about the immense talents of Mark Bram/Ruby Topaz (http://www.rubytopaz.com). His songs bring us back to the exciting, unpretentiousness of the genre yet they mix in a dash of improvisational fusion rock as well as bluesy classic rock guitar work.

He playes everything on the album, with the exception of the drums, with an urgency not heard in years. Judging by the proficiency in which he plays everything else, I bet he could master the drums as well in short order.

What is even more striking tham Bram's incredible musicianship, is his remarkable songwriting skills. From a touching ballad about a lost relationship in "Come Back To Me," to a bitter goodbye to a broken relatiionship in "Take Your Bow," Bram has his finger on
the pulse of the human condition. He will have his listeners learning more about themselves with one listen to "Topaz Rarites" than they would in a whole year of college psychology courses.
