Review: 'GOODBYE PLOT, THE'
'The Silent Fanfare EP'

-  Label: 'Wandering Star'
-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: 'WSRLCDM1'

Our Rating:
I had heard of The Goodbye Plot before due to their previous EP 'A Night Darkness and A Days Drive'. The previous EP had already grabbed my attention and made me feel this was a band with great potential. 'The Silent Fanfare' did not disappoint.

The first track 'Bruise' has a real country twang to it, supplied by the harmonica. The EP then slides into more singer/songwriter, acoustic sounds with 'Break The Line. This theme is continued throughout the EP and really shows the band are capable of many things, and more credible than many acts around at the moment.

Hi!

I got this record to review, but you beat me to it!!

Good ain't it? i like Bruise, it's a tune..it is a very intricate sound they have, lots going on within slow, fairly quiet songs..Are they Mancunian? I'm sure they are based in Manchester at least..

Glad to see someone else who is not afraid to give 10/10 to a modern release ep, even though the Velvet Underground/Beatles/Floyd/Stones/epic stuff with gatefold 12"sleeves is the 10/10 stuff on everybody's mind..(through rose tinted specs).
