Our Rating:
“We've got nothing left to lose/But this FEAR of falling” screams vocalist Fran in the midst of this chemical-induced bout of sleep depraved chaos. Machine-gun percussion peppers the crazed stream of consciousness, and the intentional echo of 'Three Blind Mice' only adds to the drooling instability.

There's just the briefest intro courtesy of a guitar lick before the whole lot charges forth – and the eyes are indeed closed throughout this thumping full-on hybrid of new wave and acid house, a journey past vocal distortion and sonic, pedal-warped screeching guitar. Brimming with distinctive vocal hooks and bristling with an energised take on the children’s classic ‘Three Blind Mice’, this acidic electro-pop is explosive enough to blow your limbs off with it’s terrorist style attack on urban dysfunction.

Backed with the threateningly-titled ‘I Will Meditate And Then I Will Destroy You’, a seamless follow-up of side A that hurtles forth on the back of a grinding bass-synth mesh of shouting, shifting distortion. Shifts in tempo offer brief respite, but the end result is still something that has you wanting to call bomb disposal in order to ensure the safety of it’s listeners. Megaphonic vocal effects and a punishing drum program fleshes out the odd surges of FX that hit the ears like a warped bottle tapping session.

SYEAYBIF have unleashed something that may well spontaneously combust. Blistering.
