Earlier on this week I was introduced to the sounds of the latest 5-piece band indie band Go Cadenza. Although there is not a great deal of originality to the Group, they clearly have musical ability that stretches way beyond the modern notion of singing and looking pretty. Their substance more than equals their style.
This is a band that will appeal to anyone taking the listener on a melodic journey with its bass lines, intricate piano arrangements and strong, emotive vocal lines.
There is plenty of scope on offer here; they create striking imagery through their songwriting and the tracks are certainly dynamic in tone, I just wonder whether these guys are slightly too self-indulgent and a tad too serious to keep people interested for any reasonable length of time. I hope I am wrong because it is a pleasant sound and I think with time they might well mature into something really special.

I am told that Go Cadenza's up and coming album exploits the boys' eclectic musical styles, and therefore its one, perhaps, to watch out for.
