Our Rating:
KEEP YOUR WITS SHARP (HER WORDS ARE QUICK) / FOR A FRIEND YOU'VE GOT A KNIFE THROUGH YOUR TONGUE

Dark, stomping, art rock with dancing boots and a live wolf in the Art College video.

That's pretty much it. But there is also the production by Justin Lockey of YOURCODENAMEIS:MILO and there has already been the tour with EAGLES OF DEATH METAL.

And it all looks very very exciting.

But best yet. It actually sounds very thunderous too. There's that old GANG OF FOUR funky feel in the high hat and slashy guitar department, but it’s riveted onto a MOTORHEAD solidity in bass and kick drum and it sounds bang on. The voice wails out with strength and conviction.

"Keep Your Wits …" opens with a stinging guitar phrase (the guitar is terrific throughout) that recalls THIS ET AL's iconic clarion "Catscan". It’s contiguous territory of course, but punchier and yelpier. Did I say feral? Romulus and Remus had it easy, I'd say. Listen twice, and try to keep that guitar out of your synapses. Can't be done.

"For A Friend…" is faster and more furious. The promise of churning live gigs rears up large and sweaty, with more frantic dance incursions across heavy monster low end surge. Agility and power.

And by gum, do look out for the video (trailed on the band's website). If this is entry level lycanthropic rock and roll, a few majors are going to have to up the ante by more than a dollar or two.

Howl.
