One of the many standouts from their recent 'Good Arrows' album, 'Bullets' allegedly proffers TUNNG'S most 'pop'-oriented single as yet.
Which is probably true if your definition of a great 'pop' single consists of putting Jona Lewie's 'Stop The Cavalry', Fairport Convention's 'Unhalfbricking' and a percussive army of cabassas, wine bottles and typewriters into a blender and seeing what emerges mutated and staggering from the other end.
Fortunately, 'Bullets' actually SOUNDS as good as the curious recipe might suggest and with its' unstoppable oompah beat, enthusiastic harmonies, explosive lyrical concerns (e.g: "your words are gelignite/ or just another sentimental aside") and a "na na na na" chorus so ineffably catchy the milkman could well be whistling it as he seduces her at no.34, you might just - against very large odds - have one of the best 'pop' singles of the year.

So vive la difference, an' all that. Tunng produce the Best DIY Top 20 smash since The Flying Lizards' 'Money'? Well, it would be if we still had proper singles charts, but you can still download it if you prefer. Whichever way you slice it, it's crammed with esoteric pop goodness you need to hear and consume at least three times a day.
