Our Rating:
It's not often you get the chance to say you like the sound of DEAD KIDS, but this is one of them. The choruses are shouty, but not too coarse; very southern sounding mild ranting mixed in with a Klaxons-esque chorus. The drums are loud, the whole affair is spiky whilst being very danceable. There are many, many things going on – lots of noises that you notice after having more and more listens. Think of Blur's 'Crazy Beat' but with youthful exuberance on it's side.

B-side 'Dark Party' is even better. Drums and keyboards are once again prominent, and extremely tight; and is that the sound of screaming in the background? The keyboards in particular give this track a nauseating edge that makes it even more enjoyable. The chant of "It's a dark, dark party song" runs throughout and is enough to give even the most mild-mannered creature a glimmer of evil in their eyes. Many bands have tried and failed to make an impression on us since Klaxons raised the bar somewhat. Now we have a challenger – this is different to the point of being special; drawing on modern influences whilst making it sound brand new.

Apparently they're unsigned – do something about that.
