Review: 'Keltica'
'The Purple Edit'

-  Genre: 'Pop'

Our Rating:
Somewhere between U2 and The Cranberries is where Ireland's Keltica seem to think they belong. A bit of disservice to both bands if you ask me...

‘Naked Brunch’ is a bit of a cringe worthy ode to a classic novel, that somehow is garnering plenty of attention on internet radio. In Turn, somehow even the NME have written nice things about them. Are we listening to the same band?? Naked Brunch is nice enough, but as a fan of the William S Burroughs novel I have to say that it should be left alone.

Without wanting to focus on the negatives too much, Keltica do in fact play to their strengths - breathy vocals and nice simple effective melodies. Sadly though, they never really excel beyond that of an accomplished pub band.

hmmm, not so sure on this review. I bought this EP after seeing some other, more positive, reviews and it doesn't disappoint! personally I'd recommend it.

I think this review just doesn't offer the full story. The full story? Keltica are the best new band in the country, no doubt. Beautiful vocals, thrilling guitar work. These boys (and girl) have what it takes to make it. And they have a really interesting logo too, check it out!

I would have given this 9/10 for sure. Once they've got a major label producer behind them I'll be thinking 10/10 for sure!

i agree i think this review is far too harsh. it's easy to see why places like the nme are raving about this band. i cant wait to hear more!
