Although singer /keyboardist Trev Oswalt says he has been influenced by Jazz and Hip-Hop, the 6 tracks on this EP are billed as "a testament to the roots of pop songwriting."
This is piano driven indie pop, nothing more nothing less. Quite agreeable in its own way so that when I played it back to back with the excellent new album by The Notwist I could hardly hear the join. Osvalt's voice even sounds faintly Germanic despite his roots on the West Coast of Oregon.
Osvalt has stated that the ep owes a lot to the mbox pro tools technology. This, for example, facilitated the duet with Eliot Sloan of Blessed Union Of Souls ('Something Out Of Nothing') despite the fact that these two never met face to face during the recording process.

The EP as a whole lacks a bit of spark, but you can easily imagine it as the kind of music that would work well as part of TV series soundtrack.
So long as you don't expect to find too much attention grabbing swing or swagger you won't be disappointed.
