Review: 'SIRACUSA, ANGELA'
'Drawn to the Flame'

-  Genre: 'Alt/Country' -  Release Date: '2008'

Our Rating:
Angela Siracusa (http://www.angelasiracusa.com) is an artist who sings her heart out through country music. In her newest album "Drawn to the Flame," Siracusa showcases her charming voice, and wonderful pieces of art. "Better Men Have Tried" is a catchy song with the oomph to bring out a woman's tough interior, while in "Hardly Heartbroke" is another song
that screams femme fetale. Siracusa shows that she is a versatile
musician in the songs "Could I Have This Dance" and "Drawn to the
Flame," where we can hear a change of tempo in her songs. Another joyful song to listen to in her new album is "Gimme Something To Dance To," where Siracusa voices out another reason for one to get up and dance.

Adam Harrington: You have quite a fanbase on My Space. How did that come about?

Angela Siracusa: In October of 2006, I joined My Space and introduced myself to complete strangers who are now my online friends and fans. What’s so awesome is they're from all over the globe. I look forward to the day I can play in some of their towns. I’m a computer geek and love efficiency; My Space allows me to reach my fans and gain new fans from word of mouth on a daily basis and instantly.

Harrington: You covered Walter Egan's 1978 hit single "Magnet and Steel" on your album "Drawn to the Flame." How did you meet him?

Siracusa: I met Walter through my manager, Ken Kahler. Walter heard my demos and agreed to work with me. We spoke on the phone and then I met him in person, November 2007. Since then, Walter co-produced two songs on my album, "Drawn to the Flame" and "Magnet and Steel." He has toured with me in June 2008 during the CMA music festival and will also be joining me on stage next week at "The Billy Block" Show during the Americana Festival.

Harrington: What is it about country music that attracts listeners worldwide?

Siracusa: The stories are universal and no matter where you live, country music is alive in the hearts of many because it speaks to them personally. There is a song for just about any situation that arises in life.

Harrington: You're based in Canada, but are you Canadian?

Siracusa: I was born in Toronto, Ontario and raised in Woodbridge, Ontario. My parents immigrated to Canada and had five of us chit-lens. We are all proud Canadians.

Harrington: What was the most difficult song for you to write and why?

Siracusa: I’d say that the songs I’m working on right now with producer Nick Riot are the most challenging because he has challenged me to take my time and make everything about writing these songs count and not making music about a marathon. With Nick at the helm, I’m positive my songs will be worth all the effort put into them. We anticipate releasing the three songs by late November 2008.
