This is a heftily rehashed and wonderfully well reinvented dancefloor classic indeed!
Released just a matter of weeks prior to the release of their much anticipated debut album (‘Wherever You Are In The World Here Are Directions Home’), this latest slice of sonically enhanced slow-release pop bodes extremely well for the immediate future of refreshing electro-pop duo GIANT JR.
An evolving pulse builds along with that wanton lead hook-line and a real sense of dancefloor urgency as this subsonic house anthem sidesteps the spread of free love to send out a thumping slice of dark intent dressed up in old skool flavour.
The first of the three Spencer & Hill remixes bodes well for some more solid reworkings of the track, but it’s the Young Punx whose production skills shine brightest. Of their three versions, their lengthy but impressive radio edit ensures Kitt’s prominence in the mix, as her voice is sampled and scratched into the foreground from an organic standing start.

It’s followed up seamlessly with the ticking clock rhythm and minimalist techno tap of their dub take, the digitally sparse beginnings are there to mislead: the head crushing acid trance that comes through with force is sure to throw you momentarily off balance before your mind is re-consumed by the effortless bounce of the track.
Eartha’s fragmented this time around, shards of her vocals flash like sonic mirrors from within the track’s mind-bending, shadow-dark pulse.
The under 3 minute ‘actual’ radio version scratches deep against a lounging hip-hop pulse that highlights the original’s jazzy intent, but from this relatively sleepy intro, the track explodes into full effect with a right ol’ bang! Hear it!
