If ever a song was destined to slip into the Friday night playlist in the trendy quarters of town, it was this. This is a house track with a full compliment of vocals. Once in a while a song like this gets the right promotion or buzz around it and experiences a period of chart success with no potential for a follow-up single of equal magnitude. To someone who doesn’t appreciate this style on the whole, it never quite makes sense which of the plethora of same sounding singles manages to break through to the mainstream and get played as mobile phone ringtones ad nauseum for months afterwards.
I don’t think it’ll be this one. It’s a conventional song, soft vocals and a simple beat behind it. Nothing stands out from it, and you can’t imagine someone being slain by its’ brilliance upon a chance hearing in a chrome-plated, vacuous cocktail outlet with a DJ in the corner on alternate Fridays. Unremarkable.
