Review: 'ME MY HEAD'
'Autumn'

-  Label: 'MBM Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '9th November 2009'

Our Rating:
As London-based four-piece Me My head gear up to the release of their debut album, they give us 'Autumn' by way of a single and taster for the main event.

Apparently the song was recorded during the cold winter months in a remote studio in the hills of Huddersfield, and 'perfectly captured the emotions and feelings of main songwriter Dave Lightfoot at the time.' Sounds like he was in a state of confusion and not entirely happy: 'the source of my contentment / has become my misery,' he sings in the first verse after observing the falling leaves and the transition from Summer to Autumn.

Such contradictions and uneasy dissatisfaction lie at the heart of this track, which centres around a breezy guitar melody with a melancholic tinge and boasts a chorus that slowly gnaws its way into your brain and lodges there.
