Our Rating:
I suppose most people think of Ray of Light when they hear the name William Orbit. Personally, the first thing that come to my mind is the fruits of his fling with Beth Orton on her sublime Trailer Park of 1996. This is a record that falls well short of Madonna's mammoth seller but it still shines as one of best solo works by a female artist of the last two decades.

Now in his fifties, the magic touch of Orbit has been well documented and he shows no signs of slowing down or changing his style.

I can't say I'm a great fan of his solo work and this EP doesn't set the pulse racing either.

It features six mixes of a tune that first appeared on Orbit's 10th album 'My Oracle Lies Uptown' and it has also featured in Madonna's TV advertising campaign for H&M.

Most of the mixes are purely instrumental - the exception being Henner & Green's remix where the line "Dream of a different world" is the mantra. Other versions are by current movers and shakers Chicane, Greenmoney and Buttons.

It makes for an efficient showcase for this synth-pop anthem and lovers of dance music will undoubtedly lap up the blend of classic Jean Michel Jarre atmospherics and more contemporary techno beats..
