Our Rating:
This oddball Christmas single (you donate your email address: they send you a free digital file) sails close to several winds, but comes through, hopeful and smiling, on the proper Christmas side.

One viewing (at least) of David Robertshaw's low-budget, high-charm video is essential to the full Christmas message. Four hairy carol singers are pestering an agitated Joseph at a tricky moment in his relationship with the live-in girlfriend. They're worried. He's worried. She's undaunted.

Mary is pregnant and Joseph hasn't yet heard the Angel's story. He's a lovely lad though, and we see him out and about in Leeds, carrying his woes and wearing a dodgy bit of headgear. She's a smiley lass with an eye for a handsome face. And somehow it doesn't seem to go too badly in the end. Christians might worry that it's not very Christian: non-Christians might think it strays too far from the True Message of Shopmas.

This reviewer think it's sensitive, comic, and a bit sad too. I like it very much, even if the choristers are a bit wobbly on some of the singing. Or maybe I like it because they are a bit wobbly. Either way, it should bring out the Northern Romantic in anyone who has got one.

And watch out for the subtle turn at the very end of the video.
