Review: 'STANDARD FARE'
'Fifteen'

-  Label: 'Thee Sheffield Phonographic Corporation'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: 'January 2010'

Our Rating:
This Sheffield-based indie trio kick off 2010 with their second single, and it's perhaps most readily summarised as 'classic' or 'trad indie' (damn, did I just invent a new / old genre?). You know the score: jangly guitars, male / female vocals, teenage trials and tribulations... yes, I suppose you could say it's pretty standard fare (boom boom!).

Still, since 'indie' came to be a style of music, and that style of music came to be associated with bands like Razorlight, The Fray, and all the countless bands I don't even want to remember, it's actually quite nice to hear some 'proper' indie being played and released... independently (even if I did initially misread the name of the label as 'Thee Sheffield Pornographic Corporation).'
