Kah is a London-based singer-songwriter and producer. More Than Dawn is her debut album, of which Kah wrote, performed, produced and co-mixed every note and word.

Broadly speaking, Kah's sound would be described as electronica, with other musical elements scattered around. The album starts strongly with "Wanting To Be Haunted" and "Fugitive". The former opens with almost medieval-sounding, harpsichord keys that soon give way to quite heavy, almost dub beats. Kah's fragile yet often beautiful vocals (a feature throughout the album) are reminiscent of Hafdis Huld but without the Icelandic accent. The latter track introduces Indian musical elements, with the meat of the song having a similar sound to Garbage's dark, pop.

Both are good songs but unfortunately the rest do not maintain this early high standard. By no means bad, what are lacking over the course of the album are memorable songs. While the likes of "July Song" and "Big City Miracle" introduce different musical elements, moods and textures (upbeat pop and more industrial respectively), the problem is that everything sounds too samey when listened to in one sitting. "Kite" for example, is a pleasant enough song, but just hangs around too long, and at eleven songs, the album is just a bit too long when all the tracks sound so similar. It just does not do enough to hold the listener's interest.

While Kah must be given credit for being a one-woman creative force, an ability to edit herself would do wonders for her next album.
